This article will help you create unpaid skills and learning opportunities that offer accredited or non-accredited certificates to young people.
How to create a 'grow your skills opportunity'.
On your home landing page, click on 'Create opportunity advert'.

Indicate that this is a 'Grow your skills opportunity' and click on 'Start new opportunity'.

You will need to Populate the Details section to provide work seekers with information about the opportunity such as:
- Opportunity description – Use short, easy-to-read paragraphs and bullet points.
- Title – Ensure the title is clear, accurate, and relevant to the role and industry.
- Closing date – Set a closing date of no less than 7 days and no more than 30 days (4 weeks).
- Location – Specify where the opportunity will be based.

Use this section to describe what you are looking for and outline your selection criteria. Clearly explain the type of applicants you are hoping to attract.
Guidelines:
- Remember that the audience is a young work seeker.
- Provide enough detail to explain the opportunity without making it too technical or overwhelming.
- Highlight important details in bold to draw attention.
- Use bullet points to keep the content easy to read.
- Keep it short and to the point — avoid overly long descriptions.

In the Questions section of the opportunity, you can include both pre-set and custom questions. These can take various formats such as multiple choice, yes/no responses, short text, and short paragraph answers.
Custom Questions allow you to pre-screen work seekers by asking specific questions that help you apply filters and shortlist candidates more effectively.
Tip: Avoid using too many free-text questions, as these are harder to filter and evaluate efficiently.

Before posting your opportunity live on the SA Youth platform, you will have a chance to review the advert. If you are happy with how it looks, click Confirm and Submit in the bottom left corner.
If you need to make changes to correct any errors, click Update Opportunity to edit the advert.
